Lingerie: Eva set from tutti rouge
Good afternoon everyone! Happy Hump Day! We hope this day has been particularly treating you well. The weather in NYC is just amazing right now!
Today, we have an exciting interview with none other than Hev @Crosswordsnotwires! Hev is a blogger from Manchester, U.K, who posts, writes, inspires, and blogs about mental health, body positivity, and self-care.
We came across Hev’s platform after being inspired by the things that are important to her such as the ability to promote self-love/self-care through the content she posts whether it is posting a photo of herself in bed or posting a photo of herself in some sick and sexy lingerie - she really is all about spreading love, positivity, and happiness - LECHERY was determined to reach out and do an interview with her!
From taking fearless and proud photos of herself in the mirror, blogging about what she feels on a day-to-day basis, and spreading the idea of body-positivity to her audience, Hev is a woman that truly inspires us to see the good in everything and everyone.
In this interview with Hev, she shares with us how she first came about into appreciating lingerie, what lingerie means to her, and how she feels when wearing them. To learn more about this motivating, loving, and caring woman, keep on reading!
Interview with body-positivity blogger @Crosswordsnotwires
LECHERY: First of all, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to interview you! It is such a pleasure to have you here with us (virtually) of course haha! Let’s first start off by telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?
HEV: Thank you! It’s lovely to be asked to take part in such a great project. My name is Hev and I’m a blogger from Manchester (UK). I blog about mental health, body positivity and self care.
LECHERY: We see that you're into lingerie, what got you into posting lingerie? Is that your way of practicing self-care? Tell us more about it.
HEV: I got into lingerie when I got into the body positivity movement. It was the first time I’d seen bodies like mine represented in a desirable and positive way.
It’s a great form of self care/love for me. It makes me feel sexy and good about my body after years of being made to feel like I didn’t matter. It made me fall in love with my body for *me*, not anyone else.
LECHERY: What does lingerie mean to you? Does it give you confidence? Or is it just something you wear to give an added extra sex appeal? How do you feel when wearing lingerie?
HEV: To me lingerie is about giving yourself confidence. I love my body for me, not anyone else. Sometimes I’ll wear sexy knickers beneath my lounging clothes, because they remind me how much I love my body.
LECHERY: What is the perfect set of lingerie for you? And which brands would you recommend?
HEV: The perfect set is one that fits my hips and boobs. Lingerie has to be comfortable and relaxing to wear or I don’t feel sexy. My favourite underwear companies are Tutti Rouge, Wilde Mode, Snag, and Shein Curve.
LECHERY: What is a bad experience you've had with a lingerie set? And what brands would you avoid buying from?
HEV: Bad experiences usually come from companies that claim to do plus sizes but only go to like a size 16. Anne Summers are not known for their inclusivity, so that’s always a big factor when it comes to choosing a brand.
LECHERY: What is your main advice to women who struggle with confidence and body image?
HEV: You need to do it for yourself. Often people get stuck comparing themselves to others or feeling insecure about what others think. It’s the hardest but most rewarding thing to work through. The human body is amazing with all that it does, and every type of body is wonderful.
LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the lingerie industry in the future?
HEV: In the future I hope there’s way more inclusivity in lingerie towards sizes, ethnicity, ability, gender etc. Everyone deserves to feel sexy and fall in love with themselves, no matter what.
LECHERY: What is one lingerie piece that every girl should have in their closet?
HEV: A Bralette! I swear by them and as someone with very large boobs it took me a while to try them - but the right fitting Bralette is just such a mood lifter!
LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy?
HEV: Soft black lace. Hands down.
LECHERY: Describe lingerie to you in three words:
HEV: Uplifting, confidence, self-love.
LECHERY: It is a really tough time in today's world with the whole COVID-19 pandemic going on, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy and healthy?
HEV: Social media has been great for keeping me sane as well as FaceTime so I can talk with my family and friends. My gorgeous niece and nephew randomly call me up just because they miss me and it’s so wonderful to feel such connection with your loved ones even when apart.
