This week went by so fast! At the same time, we can’t wait until this year is over! Just not excited for the NYC winters! First off, we just wanted to ask, how are you all doing? Even though we post on the daily, sometimes we feel like we aren’t doing enough to communicate with you all better! We hope all is well and we hope you are staying positive and healthy :)

Today, we have another interview with Victoria Gill @VictoriaWellnessUK from the U.K. Victoria is a woman who does a myriad of things in her daily life. She is a business owner by title but also a yoga teacher, former yoga studio owner, personal trainer, owner of a personal training studio, a private consultant, dance teacher, and a burlesque performer in the making. What also shook us here at LECHERY is that Victoria was also a former national champion bodybuilder and fitness athlete.

We were able to discover Victoria on our Explore Page on Instagram. This woman inspires us in every way: her values as a woman, her goal and mission to use her platform in order to encourage women to love their bodies, and promote the idea of body-positivity.

Victoria is also the owner of the British Lingerie Line, Black Sapphire Lingerie @Black_Sapphire_Lingerie. Black Sapphire Lingerie aligns with the core values of Victoria which is a brand that allows women to celebrate their femininity! We can't wait to see what she has coming for the lingerie industry, so be prepared, ladies!

In this interview with Victoria, we discuss lingerie and how she feels it’s more than an item worn in the bedroom as it allows her to express and explore her own femininity and womanhood.

LECHERY: First of all, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to interview you! It is such a pleasure to have you here with us (virtually) of course haha! Let’s first start off by telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?

VICTORIA: I am a mixture of lots of different things, and business owner by title. I am a yoga teacher, former yoga studio owner, personal trainer, I currently own a personal training studio, a private consultant, dance teacher and a burlesque performer in the making. I am also a former national champion bodybuilder and fitness athlete.

LECHERY: We see that you're into hosiery and lingerie, what got you into posting hosiery and lingerie? Tell us more about it.

VICTORIA: My job for the last decade has been to encourage women to love their bodies so simply to promote a message of body positivity. I grew up as a dancer and cheerleader and loved anything which embraced my femininity. My degree is in Psychology and my masters degree is in International Business and Retail which helps me with business. I have always been an advocate of self-love and embracing femininity. I have loved lingerie for as long as I can remember. Combining my education, occupation and personal interest is what gave me the passion to post lingerie. As a former model and athlete, I have been under alot of scrutiny for how I look and my pics are a demonstration that we should love our bodies regardless of what other people think.

LECHERY: What does lingerie mean to you? Does it give you confidence? Or is it just something you wear to give an added extra sex appeal? How do you feel when wearing lingerie?

VICTORIA: Lingerie is an expression of my femininity, my love for myself and how I enjoy being a woman. It isn't always for sex appeal or for the validation I receive from others, whilst I love the 'wow' factor I get from my partner it is also simply for myself and making the connection to myself as a woman. I feel confident, elegant and feminine.

LECHERY: What is the perfect pair of hosiery for you?

VICTORIA: I love simple black stockings with a little lace. Super simple.

LECHERY: Have you ever had a negative experience with a pair of hosiery you have bought? And what brands would you avoid buying from?

VICTORIA: Yes definitely! Items that have no support, fall apart, tear easily or fit poorly. When I buy lingerie I spend more money.

LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the hosiery and lingerie industry in the future?

VICTORIA: Brands which promote self-love, body positive messaging and items which don't break the bank.

LECHERY: What type of hosiery should every girl have in their closet?

VICTORIA: Something extra special that makes them feel like a goddess. We are all different so that item is dependent on the woman. If I have to pick one item, a beautifully fitting full garter and suspender belt set.

LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy? What is your advice to other women who struggle with confidence and body-image?

VICTORIA: A black bodysuit or teddy underneath my normal clothes. It is like my secret. Love your body unconditionally regardless of size and shape. We can decide ourselves what is beautiful and what our standards are. Self acceptance is the greatest form of power we can harness. We are all normal and we are all unique at the same time.

LECHERY: Describe lingerie to you in three words:

VICTORIA: An expression of self-love (I appreciate that is more than a word), feminine and spiritual.

LECHERY:  It is a really tough time in today's world with the whole COVID-19 pandemic going on, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy and healthy?

VICTORIA: Working on a new business, setting daily habits and routines, yoga, meditation, daily reading and self-development, weight training and spending time on my nutrition.
