Interview with the inspiring and empowering self-love activist @Dany_Rocchi
LECHERY: First of all, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to interview you! It is such a pleasure to have you here with us (virtually) of course haha! Let’s first start off by telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?
DANY: I'm a self-love activist and curvy model of Mexican and Italian descent represented by, +PLUS (Models.fr Group) in Paris, VIVAModels in Germany, Models Plus in London and AQModels in Spain, I believe that each individual is unique and beautiful in his/her own and I'm highly determined to be part of the international revolution of beauty stereotypes.
As a model, I've worked with brands such as Cosmogonie Paris, Nature Box, Milan Fashion Week, STEWIL Paris, Smart, Marina Rinaldi, Triumph, AlméParis, BestformLingerie, Oriental Wedding Paris, QVC France, Andrea, Pakar, Suburbia, Sears, Liverpool, I Love Curvy, Illusion, Rinna Brunni, Hanes, Privalia, Xtream Power Belt, among others. I participated in a season of Desafío Fashionista, Discovery H&H Latam channel TV Show, empowering curvy women. I also have been invited to talk about my experience as a model, body positivity, and self-love.
LECHERY: We see that you're into lingerie, what got you into posting lingerie? Is that your way of practicing self-care? Tell us more about it.
DANY: It is very important to normalize the idea of women wearing lingerie as it is not just for the sole purpose of sex but also a way for women to connect to her inner self, to her nature and that is beautiful.
LECHERY: What does lingerie mean to you? Does it give you confidence? Or is it just something you wear to give an added extra sex appeal? How do you feel when wearing lingerie?
DANY: I think lingerie is a way to decorate this beautiful machine (body) that we have, but it is very important to also feel comfortable with the pieces we wear. Feeling sexy should be something for ourselves and not for others.
LECHERY: What is the perfect set of lingerie for you? And which brands would you recommend?
DANY: For me a nude and seamless set is the best. It works for everything. Brands: Bestform lingerie, Cosmogonie Paris, Triumph, Darjeeling, and Chantelle.
LECHERY: What is a bad experience you've had with a lingerie set? And what brands would you avoid buying from?
DANY: I can't talk bad about a specific brand, but I can say that quality is the most important.
LECHERY: What is your main advice to women who struggle with confidence and body image?
DANY: Before accepting our body we should appreciate being alive and that our body is a perfect machine that works very hard to maintain us alive. That day I'm sure people will be able to thank who they are and will try to find the way to make changes from the love to themselves not to please others.
LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the lingerie industry in the future?
DANY: It is very important to make all people understand that being who we are is ok, I hope the lingerie industry could be able to work on this. It is time to accept who we are the way we are, respecting our own beauty.
LECHERY: What is one lingerie piece that every girl should have in their closet?
DANY: NUDE SEAMLESS PANTIES!
LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy?
DANY: I love bralettes, I think they are very feminine and sexy.
LECHERY: Describe lingerie to you in three words:
DANY: Make skin shine!
Bonus question: It is a really tough time in today's world with the whole COVID-19 pandemic going on, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy and healthy?
DANY: I love cooking healthy vegetarian recipes, cooking is a way to manifest love to myself, I love reading and I take my time to meditate and visualize.
